Monster Island, the Asylum’s mockbuster for 2019, was released just in time with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about a mysterious, monstrous creature who lives on an island. The island itself serves to symbolize the monstrous creature.


Asylum is a low budget picture. It focuses on a few human beings and concentrates the A-listers in one location to allow them to shoot their sequences during lunch. Let's not forget, however, that (other) this is a film about kaiju, and that is how they work, so maybe The Asylum will do a better job.
